Verónica del Cerro has been seen in Washington theatres for many years. Credits include Othello at Shakespeare Theatre, Arabian Nights at Constellation Theatre, El Paso Blue and Ana en el Tropico at GALA Theatre, August: Osage County at Everyman Theatre, Adventures of Homer at Kennedy Center TYA, Arizona: No Roosters in the Desert at Borderlands Theatre; Savage in Limbo at MetroStage, Andy and the Shadows and The Seagull on 16th at Theatre J, My Children! My Africa!  and Rock n' Roll, at Studio Theatre, Marisol and The Last Days of Judas Iscariot at Forum Theatre, and How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents at Roundhouse Theatre.

Recently she has been involved internationally with projects including, Looking for Hamlet (Germany w/ Teatro del Mundo) The Bald Soprano, Arthalia (UK) Colourscape (UK), El Luto Nos Viene Bien, (Proyecto Bicefalo, ENAT, Mexico City) and Dead Tree Gives No Shelter (Knaive Theatre, UK/Denmark).

In these projects, Verónica has proved herself an accomplished international, interdisciplinary artist and she is continually branching out into new territories. Currently making her home base in Spain, she is beginning to devise and develop her own directorial projects.

 

Her passions range from surfing to yoga (20 years practicing yoga,) and you can be sure such ranging interests will continue to inform her work. Fresh from working with Roy Hart Centre in France, she is rediscovering vocal techniques and excited to bring them back to DC.

 

She holds a BS in Psychology from Virginia Tech, MA in Theatre from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, and is a 500HR RYT (Yoga Teacher.)
