It is more important now than ever to support the local theater community and to celebrate our city’s talented artists.
We hope you will join us for this season.
“Live & About” is curated subscription series with monthly Outings to various theatres representing large and small companies around the DMV introducing you to different live music-theatre experiences across the spectrum. Enjoy seeing shows with friends, followed by conversation delving into the artists’ intentions, learning from others in the group about different perspectives, and sharpening our critical appreciation of this most hybrid of performance forms.
By joining in this series, you support companies across the DMV, save money by getting in on a group discount, and make new friends to expand your minds and appetite for new and different voices and genres in our culturally rich and diverse community.
Weeknight and weekend matinees are, in most months, options.

The Trumpeter

Alliance for New Music-Theatre’s production of The Trumpeter this past January was Helen Hayes Recommended by Theatre Washington.
The performances were SRO, so now we are bringing it back to Dupont Underground with 13 performances from November 4 -22.
Staged again in the bunker-like tunnel of Dupont Underground, our production of Inna Goncharova’s play about the siege and bombing of Mariupol during the first year of the Russian invasion of Ukraine was a categorical success. Directed by world-celebrated Hungarian director János Szász, who was joined by two of DC’s finest actors – Michael Kevin Darnall and Lise Bruneau, this production resonated with haunting music by trumpeter Kevin McKee and a Ukrainian Men’s Vocal Ensemble.
This will be a total immersive experience!

After losing her parents, 11-year-old Mary is sent to live with a wealthy, reclusive uncle she’s never met. As she explores his manor on the wild hills of England’s moors, Mary unearths many secrets, from the haunted inhabitants to the magic of a dormant garden. Sadness fades with the blossoms of spring as Mary’s determination to revive the garden’s beauty transforms the entire household.
Enchanting and heartfelt, with a radiant score, including songs “Lily’s Eyes,” “Come to My Garden” and “How Could I Ever Know.”
